MIT provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the Institute reasonably expects to pay for a full time position at the time of posting (part time positions are pro-rated). Posting Description

SYSTEMS ANALYST/SLATE CAPTAIN, Office of Graduate Education, serves as the lead technical specialist and database architect for MIT’s graduate admissions systems, with primary responsibility for the Slate platform; manages daily operations, ensures seamless data integration across systems, and drives initiatives to optimize admissions; collaborates with admissions staff, IS&T, and central offices to deliver an efficient, secure application experience; serves as primary administrator, overseeing access, workflows, forms, queries, portals, communications, and automation rules; manages integrations with student information and legacy systems; streamlines application review, interview scheduling, and communication workflows; builds reports and dashboards for the Office of Graduate Education (OGE) and departments to track progress and support decision-making; provides training, documentation, and troubleshooting for staff, faculty, and readers; liaises with IS&T and external vendors; maintains data models to MIT standards, enforce security protocols, and audit for accuracy and confidentiality; leads upgrades, enhancements, and yearly cycle prep while staying current with Slate best practices; and assists with OGE events such as orientations and resource fairs.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of experience; strong analytical, communication, and project management skills; and discretion and collaborative ability. PREFERRED: Five years of experience with Slate, with knowledge of forms, queries, Deliver, Inbox, and Scheduler modules; and familiarity with portals, HTML/CSS, and relational databases.

This is an initial three-year appointment (from date of hire) with the possibility of extension.
