Posting Description

PATIENT SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE, CONTACT CENTER, MIT Health, to manage incoming telephone calls and inbox messages from patients, often acting as the first point of contact that patients and other personnel will have with MIT Health. Responsibilities include providing excellent customer service and detailed communications; de-escalating and providing resolutions to problems/issues; processing the registration of new patients, ensuring accurate insurance eligibility information; scheduling appointments; providing advice about copays and the pre-visit process; answering general and troubleshooting complex patient inquiries; and screening callers for triage and coordinating with internal and external service areas. This position involves frequent communication with patients, providers, and other service areas.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: High school diploma or its equivalent; a minimum of two years of experience in a customer service or administrative role; ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously; effective telephone skills; and ability to communicate diplomatically with patients, clinicians, and other professional staff.  PREFERRED:  Experience in a healthcare setting.
