Posting Description

POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Mechanical Engineering, to work on developing advanced composite membranes based on nanoporous graphene for removal of PFAS from water in the laboratory of Prof. Rohit Karnik. Will propose creative ideas and solutions, and perform research to meet project goals; propose hypotheses, design experiments, execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret results; communicate research findings via oral presentations, slides, reports, and scientific publications; prepare project reports and presentations for sponsors; stay current with the latest relevant research advances; contribute toward new research ideas and proposals; and maintain a high level of integrity in research.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: PhD in Chemical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on membranes; understanding of membrane fabrication techniques, polymer chemistry, materials chemistry, or sufficient background to quickly learn the topics; and experience with analytical techniques like chromatography and mass spectroscopy.
