Posting Description

PROGRAM DIRECTOR, Corporate Relations-Industrial Liaison Program (ILP), to create, plan, develop, and facilitate productive and growing relationships between MIT and corporate and industry organizations through ILP participation in the U.S. and Brazil; manage a portfolio of member organizations and grow the total size of the portfolio by identifying prospects and selling new memberships; develop an understanding of the strategic technology and business challenges of portfolio companies; maintain knowledge of MIT research, activities, and resources and accurately match them to the needs of ILP companies; maintain productive relationships and encourage collaboration with MIT departments, laboratories, and faculty; identify new opportunities for company-MIT interaction and collaboration; plan and execute a series of company-specific meetings and events with MIT faculty; proactively identify and bring developments and opportunities of potential value to the attention of member contacts; and participate in office-wide programs, conference development, faculty liaison activities, and faculty travel planning.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in a related field; a minimum of seven years of experience working with industry internationally; ability to relate effectively to faculty and manage relationships with senior executives in a large corporate environment; proven ability to understand, communicate, and present complex business and technical information in sales and service contexts; and the ability to develop, manage, and close complex sales. PREFERRED: Experience in business-to-business technical sales, technology transfer, marketing, or consulting; international travel and business experience; MBA or other advanced degree; fluency in Portuguese and/or experience in or familiarity with Brazilian culture highly; and a degree from, knowledge of, or experience at MIT.
