Posting Description

LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER, ACCESS (LICSW)MIT Health, part of the Mental Health & Counseling Service/Access Team, to provide direct clinical services to MIT students, including same-day walk-in consultations, short-term stabilization care, and crisis support. The Access Team serves as the acute triage point for the service, offering high-impact, front-line mental health support in a fast-paced academic environment. Responsibilities include responding to triage calls, reviewing online triage forms, handling urgent communications from MIT faculty, staff, and deans, and coordinating care for students in crisis or transitioning to hospitalization; will also provide follow-up for after-hours calls and collaborate closely with the broader mental health team to ensure timely, compassionate, and effective care.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Master's degree in Social Work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education; a minimum of five years of post-Master’s Degree social work experience; licensure at the Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) level in Massachusetts; possesses and applies the skills and knowledge necessary to provide care to students throughout the life span; ability to task shift quickly in a busy and sometimes high utilization environment managing multiple simultaneous demands; knowledge of casework process and community resources in relation to mental health and disability; knowledge of current social work theory and practice; the ability to apply treatment and case management methods; familiarity with community issues and resources; and understanding of organizational theory and practice in large systems and the knowledge of social and health care policies and systems. Job #24996-8
