Posting Description

SENIOR RESEARCH SUPPORT ASSOCIATE, LAMASON LAB, Biology, to join an Associate Professor’s lab and assist in studies focused on host-pathogen interactions; and balance rigorous hands-on scientific research with day-to-day operational tasks such as organizing reagent inventories, training new lab members, adhering to safety protocols, etc. Projects in the lab combine genetic and biochemical screens with cellular and molecular assays to understand how intracellular bacterial pathogens hijack host cell function to cause disease.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent; exposure to research lab environment; solid organizational skills; excellent time management and verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated problem solving, solid critical thinking, and attention to detail; self-direction/motivation; practiced documentation skills; awareness of and ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment; and the ability to respond to a rapidly evolving work environment involving concurrent projects and responsibilities. PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree, especially with course work in biology, chemistry, microbiology and/or genetics; one to two years of bench experience including undergraduate work; and demonstrated experience in molecular cloning and tissue culture.
