Posting Description

PATIENT SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE – DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES (PSR), MIT Health, to be responsible for patient flow and appointment scheduling; have extensive patient contact, both in person and by telephone; be responsible for front desk tasks, including check-in, collecting copays, and obtaining accurate insurance eligibility information, administrative tasks including phone calls, data entry, insurance reviews, filing, and scheduling appointments and procedures to coordinate within and across providers, service areas, and healthcare facilities; interacts with internal and external stakeholders by effectively communicating with referral providers and practices to facilitate management of complex patient issues; provide positive and effective customer service that supports departmental operations.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent; a minimum of two years of experience such as in customer service or an administrative role; ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, communicate with patients, clinicians, and other professional staff in pleasant, calming, and diplomatic manner; solid organizational skills and the ability to follow through and complete tasks; math skills such as the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with accuracy; and ability to work independently or within a team environment and ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.
