Posting Description

STOCKROOM SUPERVISOR, PROCUREMENT R&M, Facilities - Finance and Administration, is responsible for the day-to-day management of buying and ordering; supervises a team of three stock clerks, overseeing their work assignments, performance management, training, and mentorship; and ensures efficient purchasing processes for a high volume of supplies, equipment, and services at the best possible price and value, in alignment with departmental needs and institutional procurement policies.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field or four years of proven experience in purchasing, procurement and vendor management, with a solid understanding of cost management, negotiation and compliance; and a minimum of three years of procurement/sourcing experience with a focus on "buy to pay" purchasing processes; previous supervisory experience; ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate the procurement of goods and services for large organizations; solid written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail in all accounting-related tasks; customer service orientation and demonstrated professionalism when handling confidential information; collaborative team player with the ability to align long-term business goals with daily operational activities; proven leadership skills to motivate and guide team members, setting a positive example; in-depth knowledge of standards and processes in a specific operations or technical area, acquired through experience or specialized training; familiarity with SAP and MIT Procurement policies and procedures; ability to use organizational knowledge to assist and influence others; and self-motivated with solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
