RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST, MIT Health, performs radiologic imaging for diagnostic purposes, works independently using extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, positioning, and radiation physics and radiation dosage to ensure high-quality diagnostic images; performs diagnostic general radiology procedures on infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients on designated areas of the body as requested by a physician; confirms appropriate clinical data, obtains patient history, and uses the lowest possible dose to provide high quality images for the interpreting radiologist; communicates effectively with patients as well as other members of the health care team; and provides for the emotional, physical well-being, and safety of the patient while maintaining strict standards of patient confidentiality.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: High school diploma or its equivalent; a minimum of one year of related experience; and registration, or eligibility for registration, with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) from an accredited institution. PREFERRED: Massachusetts license with no constraints; certification from a recognized agency; and Basic Life Support (BLS), with in-person component, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certifications. Working Conditions: Ability to remain in a stationary position, move, grasp, transport, position self to perform diagnostic radiology on patients and communicate for a significant portion of duties; ability to move objects weighing up to 20 pounds; lift or turn patients who are disabled, with assistance if needed; proficiency in tasks employing manual steadiness; ability to multitask; maintain concentration on fine details and to prioritize and return to functions performed before interruption; comfortable with potential exposure to body fluids, hazardous waste materials, poisonous substances, dust, chemicals, bodily injuries, loud or unpleasant noises, electrical hazards, electromagnetic radiation like CRTs (VDTs).
Hourly range: $40-$45 per hour, final rate will be determined by MIT’s compensation team based on the skills and experience of the person hired.
