Posting Description

MAMMOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGIST, MIT Health, will perform both mammography exams and radiologic imaging for diagnostic purposes; work independently using extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, positioning, and radiation physics and radiation dosage to ensure that a high-quality diagnostic image is produced; perform diagnostic general radiology procedures on infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients on designated areas of the body as requested by a physician; confirm appropriate clinical data; obtain patient history and use the lowest possible dose to provide high quality images for the interpreting radiologis; communicate effectively with patients as well as other members of the healthcare team; and provide for the emotional, physical well-being, and safety of the patient while maintaining strict standards of patient confidentiality.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: High School diploma or equivalent; ARRT Registry Certifications in Radiography RT® and Mammography RT(M) certification from a recognized accredited institution; Massachusetts licensed in Radiography/ Mammography; a minimum of 1 year as a Licensed Radiology / Mammography Technologist; passed the ARRT exam in Mammography; and proven detailed knowledge of Mammography equipment and MQSA and ACR regulations as well as the ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Safety. PREFERRED: Basic Life Support (BLS), with in-person component, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certifications. Job #24773-8
