Posting Description

TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, Mechanical Engineering, to support an interdisciplinary and dynamic team with the development of biomedical devices for novel ingestible electronics systems for drug release and monitoring in the gastrointestinal tract. Responsible for circuit board design; electronics assembly and fabrication; device characterizations and programming (instruments control, micro-controllers, user-interface writing, phone apps, etc.; accurate recording and maintenance of procedures and results; ordering components and printed circuit boards to conduct experiments; working with postdoctoral associates, technicians, and undergraduate students; and analyzing and documenting experimental protocols; and laboratory upkeep. The work is challenging, multifaceted, multidisciplinary, and provides a broad overview of current state-of-the-art translational research.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer/mechanical engineering; a minimum of two years of specialized lab experience, which may include experience gained as an undergraduate; commitment to producing accurate and high-quality protocols and data; robust time management skills and ability to prioritize own work to meet deadlines; ability to maintain a safe work environment; ability to work independently with minimal supervision; and willingness to learn new scientific tools and techniques quickly. PREFERRED: Experience with PCB design, Altium preferred; and embedded firmware development, C preferred. Job #24754

Salary range $55,000 - $57,000
