Posting Description

DENTAL HYGIENIST, MIT Health, to provide appropriate dental care and oral hygiene instruction to patients; perform preventive and therapeutic treatments according to a patient’s individual needs, including coronal polishing, supra- and sub gingival scaling, root planning, placing sealants, application of fluoride, exposing and developing radiographs, and soft tissue management regimens as described by law; and assist in obtaining and updating clerical and clinical information and documenting same.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Registered dental hygienist with a license that is valid in Massachusetts; current CPR certification; robust communication and problem-solving skills; initiative; ability to work cooperatively with other staff members in the Dental Service; good eyesight, hand/eye coordination, and manual dexterity; and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Work conditions: Working on one task for prolonged periods; remain in a stationary position for a long period of time; strict adherence to routine and repetitive tasks; and exposure to hazardous materials, including blood/body fluids, hazardous waste, radiation, chemicals, toxins/poisonous substances, ultraviolet light and sharp instruments. 

Salary range: $95,000 - $105,000, final salary determined by MIT’s compensation team based on the skills and experience of the person hired.
