Posting Description
MUSIC SENIOR EVENTS PLANNING ASSISTANTMIT Music and Theater Arts Section, performs complex and diverse administrative duties to support Music Program operations, serving curricular and non-curricular activities. Administers Music Program ensembles, either as lead or in a supportive role. Plans and produces approximately half of the 150 yearly Music Program events, co-sponsored CAST concerts, and additional performance events as needed. Oversees ensemble budgets and provide administrative, financial, and onboarding support for the Music Program. Manages inventories of Music Program assets.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent and minimum of five years of events support or arts administrative experience. Exceptional organizational skills, responsiveness, and flexibility; experience in event planning and production; project budgeting experience; experience with Apple platforms and software, the Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and the Microsoft Office Suite; excellent production and time management skills; excellent oral, written, and visual communication skills; must take initiative; have positive and proactive energy; and ability to work effectively under pressure. Must be detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects at the same time. Ability and willingness to work both independently and as part of a team is a must. Work may require moving objects weighing 10 to 50 lbs. Work may require traversing long distances or moving from site to site. Bachelor’s degree and demonstrated knowledge in the field of music and familiarity with instruments strongly preferred. Pay range (Grade 6): $27.21 - 35.83/hour; starting pay commensurate with experience.

Works nights and weekends as needed (~10 nights/weekends per year).
