Posting Description

HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR, Department of Mechanical Engineering (MechE), to work with the Manager of Human Resources as part of the MechE Human Resources Office; advise and assist faculty and staff on human resources (HR) matters and acts as a liaison with central Human Resources. Administers human resources activities including appointment administration, recruitment, orientation, performance management and development, employee relations, and compensation;  collaborates on the development of and administers and implements HR policies, procedures, and activities and ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations; participate in the strategic planning for the department.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of four years’ Human Resources generalist experience; in-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws and current Human Resources’ principles, practices and trends; excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated computer skills; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with compensation guidelines and salary ranges/bands.  Familiarity with MIT Personnel Policy Manual and Human Resources guidelines desired; a SPHR or PHR preferred. Salary range: $90,000 - $110,000
