Posting Description

FINANCIAL OFFICER, Division of Comparative Medicine (DCM), to manage and coordinate DCM’s business and financial functions. Will provide leadership and direction for DCM’s financial operations, including financial planning, budget analysis, operational and financial performance metrics, and business and strategic plans; develop and maintain current and long-range financial plans to reflect the division’s strategic goals and mission; administer complex pre- and post-award financial activities related to the daily operation for the division; and resolve complex financial issues and advise on matters pertaining to financial management.  

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree; a minimum of five years of experience in accounting or finance; solid communication, analysis, quantitative, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills; ability to conduct complex financial analyses and projections fora service center and learn changing technologies related to grants and contracts management; knowledge of federal guidelines; diplomacy with confidential information/issues; and ability to interact effectively with a wide range of people. PREFERRED: MBA or similar degree conferring expertise in accounting or finance; experience with MIT’s financial, accounting, and sponsored research systems; and familiarity with the business aspects of an animal resource program.
