Posting Description

ENTREPRENEUR IN RESIDENCE (EIR), MIT Sloan Martin Trust Center, will work directly and indirectly with other EIRs, the Executive and Managing Directors, and staff members to ensure courses and programs are delivered to all students at MIT's standards of rigor and excellence and are aligned with the Trust Center's frameworks; teach entrepreneurship courses; lead programs; serve as a mentor to student teams; build infrastructure, tools, and processes to better serve Center’s mission; serve as a liaison and mentor to students working in the Center, meeting with them regularly; and act as an ambassador of entrepreneurship education and MIT's perspective on it, to students and visitors to the Center.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Master’s degree; a minimum of five years of industry experience; experience in a business start-up or as a founder or early employee in a startup or another new innovation-driven organization; willingness to openly share successes and failures with students in the educational process; excellent command of written and spoken English; ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment; an interest in innovation and entrepreneurship; highly motivated with ability to work both collaboratively as a team member and independently; and solid social media skills. PREFERRED: solid motivation and willingness to bridge-build across campus to make sure MIT students are taking full advantage of the rich set of resources available to them and identifying and filling in gaps where needed; proven product and technical expertise; and interest in international education or working with international partners. Salary range: $97,150 - $129,895 - $162,640, based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity.  Generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
