Posting Description

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, ICEO, Office of the Provost, reporting to the Vice President of Equity and Inclusion, serves as a key strategic liaison between schools, departments, external stakeholders, and central administration; works collaboratively with senior leadership, diversity professionals, faculty, staff, and students across the Institute to build community and advance MIT’s vision for inclusive excellence; leads the continuous advancement of the Strategic Action Plan for Belonging, Achievement, and Composition (SAPBAC) at both the Institute and local levels; researches and identifies current and emerging issues, trends, and opportunities. Will have organizational and operational oversight for the Institute Community and Equity Office (ICEO), responsible for strategic planning, execution, and supervision of programs and initiatives that have a measurable impact on the vision and mission of the ICEO and MIT.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of ten years related experience; experience managing a team or leading projects, programs, or functions; proven track record in building and implementing innovative, effective cultural change initiatives promoting diversity, inclusion, equity, well-being, and community building; excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to cultivate partnerships in MIT’s diverse community of students, staff, and faculty; exceptional communication and listening skills; ability to assess programs as well as analyze data and use data to influence action; and ability to handle confidential information using discretion. PREFERRED: Advanced degree and knowledge of university environment. Job #24603-13
