Posting Description

DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE, Office of Innovation and Strategy (OIS), serves as the chief financial and administrative leader; manages finance, human resources, information technology, and facilities functions; develops and implements new policies and procedures; hires, trains, onboards, supervises, and develops non-academic staff; acts as first point of contact for HR-related issues; fosters a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment; develops and manages budgets and financial planning; oversees research administration and compliance; produces financial reports and provides strategic data analysis; manages initiatives to improve service delivery and business systems; serves as a key liaison to the Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer (CISO) on broad-based strategic initiatives; coordinates fellowship and research programs; resolves issues related to finance, risk, and compliance; identifies operational improvements and recommends solutions; and negotiates with vendors and contractors.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree; a minimum of seven years of administrative or management experience; leadership abilities; financial management experience; strategic planning abilities; strong communication skills; proficiency with HR and financial systems; collaborative mindset; effective team-building skills; discretion with sensitive matters; problem-solving capabilities; and familiarity with MIT systems like SAP and Cognos. PREFERRED: Master’s degree; and experience with MIT policies and procedures. Job #24543-11
