Posting Description

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO), Open Learning (OL), will provide financial leadership, decision support, and strategic direction; be responsible for the financial operations of OL, including the development of a financial and operational strategy, associated metrics, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems and reporting of accurate financial results; be a key member of Open Learning’s leadership team; develop, implement, and monitor financial aspects of strategic business plans that align with the short-term and long-term goals of OL; lead the development of annual and multi-year budgets for Open Learning’s units; monitor all financial aspects of the organization, including financial reporting and accounting, financial analysis, and forecasting and modeling; and provide financial leadership across Open Learning’s various units, working closely with the academic deans, faculty, and department heads to ensure alignment with institutional priorities.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; a minimum of ten years of financial management experience; and robust organizational, leadership, collaboration, and communication skills. PREFERRED: master’s degree and higher education experience. Job #24517-13

Salary range: $175,000 - $225,000, final salary determined by MIT’s compensation team based on the skills and experience of the person hired.

This is a hybrid position, with 1 - 3 days a week required onsite in Cambridge, MA, based on the needs of the team, MIT, and the Vice Provost Open Learning.
