Posting Description

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION COMMUNICATIONS, MIT Sloan Office of Communications, plays an important part in MIT Sloan’s efforts to support DEI communications across the community by sourcing and sharing stories from across the school. Will create and maintain content for the diversity website; write community-wide messaging related to DEI; source stories from our community to maintain a full pipeline of inclusive coverage; work closely with colleagues across the school to raise the visibility and awareness of DEI content available for use; interact regularly with the MIT Sloan DEI deans to support their communications including drafting talking points or other presentation needs; and build and nurture strong relationships with student clubs around the school to collaborate on content projects for the website and social media platforms.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in a related field; a minimum of 3 years of experience in writing marketing communications; news sense: understanding of the elements of a compelling story; excellent communication skills; ability to listen and synthesize information accurately and concisely; outstanding organizational skills and detail orientation; creative problem-solver; commitment to an energetic and inclusive office culture; collaborates with others; communicates openly and effectively; demonstrates curiosity for learning; self-directed and proactive; manages ambiguity and navigates change; and acts with caring and a sense of community. PREFERRED: journalism background; experience with DEI efforts and communications; familiarity with Drupal; and ability to create presentations. Job #24485-7

Salary range:  $63,860 - $85,388 - $106,915, based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity. New hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
