ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II, SCHWARZMAN COLLEGE OF COMPUTING, Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS), performs complex and diverse clerical, administrative, and financial duties in direct support of five faculty and their research in a dynamic and active research lab; prepares academic course materials; coordinates complex domestic and international travel arrangements; provides travel itineraries and processes travel expenses using Concur; anticipates and initiates actions regarding office operations which require knowledge of the Institute and other departments; serves as initial point of contact for visitors; and coordinates meetings, events and presentations.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of administrative, office, or related experience; ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate as part of a team; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and attention to detail; creative, organized, results-oriented; possesses office management and advanced computer software skills; proficiency with desktop publishing, database, and web software; ability to easily negotiate the Internet; and familiarity with multiplatform operating systems ( e.g. Macintosh and PC). PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree and MIT experience. Job #24481-5

Due to many on-campus events, activities, and the need to support lab members in-person, this position is designated as a five-day on-campus schedule during the first six months of employment with the possibility of working a four-day on-campus schedule with one day of remote work and is subject to change.
