Posting Description

SOFTWARE ENGINEER, MIT Investment Management Company (MITIMCo), to collaborate with engineering peers and internal professionals in investment management, commercial real estate, and operations to design and build applications for investment analytics and operational data management in a department within MIT, that manages over $30 billion in financial assets for the Institute’s endowment, retirement plan, and other capital pools. MITIMCo’s mission is to deliver outstanding long-term investment returns for MIT, directly supporting the transformative research and educational efforts of this world-class institution. Will contribute to application architecture, development, and maintenance, ensuring that the solutions meet business objectives; write and modify program code; assist with technical documentation; troubleshoot and debug programs to solve technical problems; engage with peer workflows to adhere to best practices; assist with continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment and unit testing frameworks; monitor production environments and resolve support issues.

Job Requirements

 

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree in math, finance, computer science, or a related field and minimum of 1 year of application development experience; demonstrated understanding of object-oriented programming; experience with cloud programming and SQL; ability to work with large, structured data sets; strong problem-solving skills and effective time management; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; discretion in handling confidential information; team-oriented with an interest in Investment Management and/or Real Estate; ability to work at least two days per week from MITIMCo’s offices in Cambridge, MA.
