Job Description

SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES REPRESENTATIVE, Mathematics, to provide a wide range of support for HR administration including: support all aspects of new hire onboarding and offboarding; collect info, prepare forms, and enter data for position and salary changes, visa applicants, visiting scholars and students; coordinate with payroll; maintain personnel databases, files and records; monitor, triage, and respond to routine HR inquiries via in-person, email, and phone; assist with approval of staff timesheets; run, review, and act as needed on personnel reports; send reminders before extension or termination for temporary appointments; assist managers with recruitment; draft and edit HR correspondence and presentations; and other HR duties.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent; minimum five years of experience in an administrative office support position; discretion and tact with confidential information, excellent interpersonal attention to detail, and organization skills; robust verbal and written communication skills; ability to prioritize tasks, handle competing work assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions; sense of ethics, integrity, and responsibility for own actions; ability to follow and apply appropriate laws, regulations, and policies; knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, Outlook, Google, Zoom, and reporting and database software; and ability to learn new applications and systems. PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources Management; higher education professional experience; experience with MIT systems; ability to analyze, create, or improve processes and procedures; knowledge and experience with HRIS, applicant tracking, performance management, and QuickBase software; experience recruiting and onboarding employees; and interest in developing as a Human Resources professional.
