Job Description

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 2, School of Engineering, to perform complex and diverse administrative support for the Tata-MIT Alliance using a high degree of resourcefulness to research and resolve problems, exercise independent judgment and anticipate needs. Will manage calendars and complex travel arrangements. Under minimal supervision, will support the day-to-day operations of the Tata-MIT Alliance, including communication, coordination and organization of the program’s activities, events, and projects; support positive internal and external relationships on behalf of the Tata-MIT Alliance, and work with others to identify common areas of interest and opportunities to collaborate, disseminate information, and facilitate activities; and respond to inquiries in alignment with MIT policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent; minimum of three years of direct or related experience in a professional administrative support position; excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and writing skills; ability to interact with a diverse group of staff, students, and visitors; tact and discretion when handling confidential information; solid organizational and problem-solving skills; attention to detail; ability to take initiative and work both independently and within a team; ability to successfully balance and prioritize workload; proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat. PREFERRED: experience at MIT or other university and bachelor’s Degree. Job #24425-5
