Posting Description

DIRECTOR OF DISABILITIES AND MEDICAL LEAVES SERVICES, Human Resources, to direct operations and staff for MIT’s Disabilities and Medical Leaves services, including managing leaves, ADA accommodations, worker’s compensation programs, and Long-Term Disability administration in compliance with Federal and State Laws; ensure consistent policies and practices with DSMLO staff; analyze complex problems and advise DSMLO staff on escalations and pay issues; counsel managers, employees, and HR partners on MIT’s leave and pay policies; manage vendor relationships and communications with MIT employees; create educational materials and programs on leave management, worker’s compensation, and disability services; participate in policy development and modifications; develop reports to track and analyze data; collaborate with internal partners to resolve program issues.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience in Human Resources with a proven background in employee services; excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills, organizational, written communication, and management skills. High-level problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to work cross-functionally and independently; advanced knowledge of leave policies, worker’s compensation, and ADA accommodations; experience managing people, customer service settings, and projects; proficiency with MS Office, and experience implementing programs using technology. PREFERRED: advanced degree or professional certification, experience with SAP, reporting tools, Filemaker, and other software, and MIT experience. Job #24414-13
