Job Description

TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE 1, Biology/Biological Engineering, to join the Boyer Lab which investigates the molecular mechanisms that drive cell fate decisions and how faulty regulation leads to disease using stem cell and mouse models.  Will be responsible for laboratory work, data analysis, and general lab maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and the generation of high-quality data. Responsibilities include collaborating with team members to achieve project objectives; conducting molecular and cellular biology experiments, including cell culture, cell line manipulation using gene editing, DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, qPCR, and fluorescence microscopy including sample preparation and analysis; recording, analyzing, and interpreting experimental data with guidance from team members; participating in group meetings, discussions, and research presentations; and assisting with general lab maintenance, including ordering and safety compliance. May serve as the EHS representative for the lab.  

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor's degree in a relevant field, e.g., biology, molecular biology, or biochemistry; two years of lab experience; experience with cell culture and cell-based assays, molecular biology techniques, and imaging; meticulous attention to detail; excellent organizational and written and oral communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; commitment to ensuring laboratory safety and compliance protocols are met; and ability to adapt to evolving research needs and learn new techniques.  Job #24334
