Job Description

WOMEN’S AND MEN’S SWIMMING AND DIVING ASSISTANT COACH AND ATHLETICS COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANTAthletics, Physical Education and Recreation (DAPER)-Intercollegiate Sports, to assist--in collaboration with the Mary Frances Wagley head coach of swimming and diving--with leading a high-quality, nationally-competitive varsity program that is challenging, well-organized, and administered based on sound coaching techniques and instructional strategies and has a positive retention rate.  Responsibilities will include assisting with managing all facets of the women’s and men’s swimming and diving programs, including recruiting; administration; budget management; alumni stewardship; scheduling of competitions, team travel, and weekly practice sessions; advising students; managing social media accounts; and ensuring compliance with NCAA and NEWMAC conference rules and regulations. Will also be responsible for duties assigned under the supervision and direction of the director of DAPER Communications, Promotions and Marketing (CPM).

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; at least two years of coaching experience, preferably at the college/university level; administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills; and proficiency with computers and knowledge of Hy-Tek software. Appropriate certifications in first aid, CPR, AED, and biohazards are required within thirty days of hire.  PREFERRED:  master’s degree, proven experience recruiting to a highly selective institution, and writing and graphic design experience.  Job #24164

This is a full-time, ten-month, benefits-eligible assistant coaching position.
