Job Description

FINANCIAL COORDINATOR, Civil and Environmental Engineering, to coordinate sponsored research programs and gift-related financial activities--under the direct supervision of the senior financial officer--for an assigned portfolio of faculty members. This includes conducting financial analysis; submitting proposals to government agencies, foundations, and other organizations; ensuring compliance with solicitation guidelines and MIT policies; monitoring and reconciling accounts on a monthly basis; forecasting financial trends; and preparing and analyzing financial reports for the assigned faculty portfolio.  

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; at least two years of direct/related financial or accounting experience; knowledge of and experience with financial systems, spreadsheets, accounting tools, and general finance administration; excellent analytical, organizational, and oral and written communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; ability to set priorities and work effectively under the pressure of deadlines despite frequent interruptions; strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Excel and Word; and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.  PREFERRED: experience with research administration; and knowledge of OSP Kuali COEUS and SAP, MIT's financial and administrative systems.  Job #24066-6
