Posting Description

EVENTS & ADMINISTRATION PLANNING ASSISTANT, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab, to be one of three members of staff supporting the CSAIL Director’s Office. The role serves as the primary point of contact to CSAILHQ leadership, and coordinates events and programs managed by the Director’s Office. The Events & Administration Planning Assistant works in a complex environment that requires a high degree of sensitivity, confidentiality, and responsiveness; interacts knowledgeably and professionally with a variety of individuals including members of the public, students, faculty, staff, sponsors, and vendors; and develops and maintains networks across the Institute. The position reports to and works closely with the Events & Initiatives Manager as well as the Assistant Director of Planning and Initiatives.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: High School diploma; a minimum of two years of experience in event planning, production and administration; ability to manage all technical aspects of live, online, and hybrid program deliveries including participant troubleshooting, presenter training, and video editing; ability to balance the requirements of numerous programs in varied stages of planning and with overlapping schedules and deadlines; proven track record of creative, successful events; experience coordinating promotional design, marketing, and communications; excellent organizational, communication, negotiating, and multitasking skills; ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a customer-service mindset; ability to multitask and work effectively in a pressured work environment with changing priorities and limited supervision; demonstrated strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain professional outlook and demeanor at all times, particularly during times of increased stress; possess solid knowledge of organizational policies and practices in order to interpret and determine appropriate course of action effectively and appropriately; ability to work independently to complete projects but function effectively as a member of a team; and ability to lift up to 25 lb.
