CORE MANAGER, Biology - The MIT BioMicro Center and Koch Institute Genomics Core, to support a range of biological research projects in cancer, infectious disease, environmental health and other topics in basic and applied biology; coordinate the day-to-day operations of the experimental laboratory; oversee the training of technical personnel and researchers on advanced techniques and methods; and be responsible for ensuring the quality and timeliness of the data being produced.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: PhD in life sciences and a minimum of two years of related experience in a research environment or Master's degree and a minimum of four years of related experience (which may include experience as a graduate student) with evidence of original or collaborative scholarship; direct experience with genomic technologies spanning multiple methodologies in a research setting; experience with identifying solutions using a systematic, multi-step approach; broad knowledge of molecular biology and genomic methodologies; solid understanding of modern sequencing techniques; ability to rapidly grasp new fields of study; experience working independently; the ability to multi-task, set priorities, produce polished results and thrive in a fast-paced environment; demonstrated communication skills; ability to work as part of a team and with users of diverse scientific/technical backgrounds; ability to answer complex questions and demonstrate a deep understanding of systems biology; and knowledge and expertise in a UNIX/Linux environment.
