Posting Description

PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR, (MechE), will provide complex administrative support to the Department Head (DH) and the MechE leadership team; be the key contact for MechE headquarters and related operations; provide proactive management of day-to-day operations in headquarters for the Department at the direction of the DH; and implement and oversee special projects aligned with MechE headquarters’ administrative operations, strategic plans, and priority initiatives such as the Initiative for New Manufacturing.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years of administrative, operations, program management or related experience; robust organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to handle a fast-paced, multi-task work environment with changing priorities and limited supervision; excellent project management skills and attention to detail; robust writing skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of faculty, staff, and students both verbally and in writing; ability to use high-level discretion, maintain confidentiality, and provide high-quality customer service; experience with managing complex calendars, travel arrangements, and coordinating logistics for meetings and events; advanced technical and computer skills to support administrative functions including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and shared document environments such as SharePoint, Dropbox, Google docs. PREFERRED: Experience in a Higher Education Institution; experience working with faculty and across large departments/centers; and MIT experience. Job #24959-8
