Posting Description

RESEARCH ASSOCIATE 1, Sloan School of Management-MIT Golub Center for Finance and Policy (GCFP), to play a key support role for all activities of the center.  Will perform a range of tasks to help carry out the center’s research program and ensure GCFP is well-positioned to inform public policy development through high-quality reports and educational initiatives. Responsibilities include contributing to all phases of the research process, including assisting with model formulation and development, data gathering and quantitative analysis, drafting reports, and assisting with research dissemination and outreach; supporting educational and outreach activities, including maintaining and updating the center’s website and helping to support GCFP events; and offering subject matter insights and contributing to the study of government policies and programs.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED:  master’s degree in finance, economics, or closely-related field or an MBA or a quantitatively-oriented MPA (or their equivalents); two years of related experience; ability to conduct high-quality, innovative research in economics and finance; programming and data analysis skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; self-motivation; ability to work on several concurrent projects and collaborate with other GCFP researchers, students, and staff; and willingness to express ideas and accept direction.  PREFERRED:  work experience within a government financial institution (or related organization) or demonstrated understanding of the government’s role as a financial decisionmaker, regulator, and participant.  Job #24305
