Position Description:

Purpose

A postdoctoral fellowship position is open in the Department of Biophysics at the Medical College of Wisconsin focusing on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology development. This project will be dedicated to the deep learning-driven design of MRI pulse sequences, image reconstruction algorithms, and the quantitative estimation of tissue parameters. These efforts contribute to a larger initiative aimed at enhancing the accuracy and reproducibility of quantitative MRI. The Center for Imaging Research at MCW houses two cutting-edge GE Premier 3T MRI systems, which will play a significant role in the research. We are seeking a candidate who is eager to work in a team-oriented laboratory environment that emphasizes innovation. The role includes mentoring graduate students in research methodologies, engaging in scientific publication, and preparation of grant proposals.

Primary Functions

Supervise and independently execute studies related to the project described above, including performing experiments, analyzing data, and disseminating results through presenting at conferences and writing manuscripts.

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities

Ideal candidates will have experience expertise in one or more of the following:

  • MRI pulse sequence design (GE HealthCare EPIC Preferred)
  • Programming in Python and C/C++
  • Machine learning with PyTorch
  • Excellent writing skills, as evidenced by first author publications

 


Preferred Schedule:
Mon-Fri 8am - 5pm

Minimum Required Education: Ph.D.

Minimum Required Experience: None                  

Preferred Experience:  Experience in MRI pulse sequence development

Field: Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar
