Position Description:

This position involves specific day to day responsibilities in the MCW buildings as well as minimal supervised responsibilities in more intricate repair and replacement aspects of HVAC and other Research Building mechanical systems.


Primary Functions

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of equipment.  Apply basic troubleshooting skills to minor system malfunctions as detected during daily, weekly, or monthly inspections. Work with and train Mechanic 1’s on these inspections.  Advise supervisor of system malfunctions or deficiencies.

Independently perform repair, and or replacement of, but not limited to; fan and pump motors, pumps, seals and bearings, sinks, toilets, pneumatic controllers, pneumatic – electric transducers, backflow preventers, refrigeration devices, automatic and manual equipment.

Independently perform small projects such as installing, air and vacuum system piping to fume hoods, repairing plumbing systems, repairing RO systems

Diagnose and analyze malfunctioning equipment and make necessary corrections.

Perform all necessary PM’s on equipment in accordance with established guidelines.

Position Requirements:

 

High   school or equivalent. Trade   School HVAC Diploma, Associate Degree or  equivalent preferred.

3   years prior experience
