Position Description:
The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is seeking a qualified candidate for service work in Dermatopathology and Surgical Pathology.
The candidate must qualify for an appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Pathology and be Board Certified in, or eligible for certification in Dermatopathology. Candidates should be qualified for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Wisconsin. Individuals interested in pursuing clinical and translational research and furthering their national reputation in Pathology are particularly encouraged to apply. The service work in this position includes a full range of dermatologic care for both common and rare dermatology conditions. In addition, this role will handle clinical cases in a sub-specialty of surgical pathology. This mix of both dermatopathology and surgical pathology will be discussed further during the interview process. This role will also be expected to participate in teaching of residents, fellows, medical students, and students in the allied sciences at the Medical College of Wisconsin, as well as participation in research and administration.
The position will report to the division of surgical pathology. This division of surgical pathology works under a subspecialty sign-out system, with close working relationships with clinicians and surgeons and a full complement of cutting-edge clinical service lines. The residency program encompasses 16 positions, and the department has active fellowship programs in GI/liver pathology, cytopathology, hematopathology, Breast/Gyn pathology, pediatric pathology, general surgical pathology, forensics, and transfusion medicine. The department houses a full-service translational research core facility that serves the human tissue research needs of both the pathology faculty and translational researchers across campus. This laboratory offers a full range of technical platforms, from histology and immunohistochemistry through a full menu of molecular techniques and next generation sequencing, and these services are available to all faculty members.
