Position Description:
The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is seeking a collaborative Gastrointestinal Pathologist to join the faculty pathology team in beautiful Milwaukee.
Opportunity Highlights:
- The Gastrointestinal pathology section examines approximately 8,000 specimens per year, reviewing a variety of benign, pre-neoplastic & neoplastic conditions to provide the most appropriate care
- The section participates is several multidisciplinary conferences and tumor boards on a weekly basis and is actively involved in teaching rotating medical students, pathology residents, & the gastrointestinal pathology fellow
- The Department of Pathology works under a subspecialty sign-out system, with close working relationships with clinicians & surgeons and a full complement of cutting-edge clinical service lines
- Physician-led organization consisting of 56 faculty members within the Department of Pathology
- The Department of Pathology houses a full-service translational research core facility that serves the human tissues research needs of both the pathology faculty & translational researchers across campus. This laboratory offers a full range of technical platforms, from histology & immunohistochemistry through a full menu of molecular techniques and next generation sequencing, and these services are available to all faculty members.
- Participate in the education & development of fellows, residents, & students
- Residency program encompasses 16 positions, and the department has active fellowship programs in GI/liver pathology, cytopathology, hematopathology, breast/gyn pathology, pediatric pathology, general surgical pathology, forensic pathology, & transfusion medicine

Position Requirements:
- Qualify for an appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor
- Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology or Clinical & Anatomic Pathology
- Successful completion of a Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology fellowship
- Eligible for medical licensure in Wisconsin
- Successful candidates should bring strong clinical abilities, well-refined interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and commitment to MCW’s academic missions
