Assists the General Counsel in the management of the organization-wide risk management program and provides guidance to clinical and medical staff. Reports directly to the General Counsel, but works collaboratively with all in-house legal counsel, the Chief Medical Officer, the Director of Clinical Quality and the Chief Financial Officer. Detects, monitors, prevents, organizes, measures, investigates, reports and manages malpractice claims.
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years or more of experience in Hospital Management, Risk Management, Litigation, or Insurance. Skills required: Strong knowledge and familiarity with healthcare/clinical processes and standards of care as applied to professional and general liability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Broad knowledge of healthcare regulations including TJC, CoPs, Georgia and federal regulations. Certification(s) required: Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management, or able to obtain in 1 year.
Bachelor's Degree: BS/BSN. Experience in claims management, database systems. Self-directed and highly motivated with problem solving abilities. Capacity to handle diverse activities in a fast paced environment. Knowledge of federal regulations regarding patient rights related to grievances. Licensure(s) preferred: GA Registered Nurse.
