This position is responsible for:

Providing rotating, reciprocating and fixed equipment engineering support to the CO2 business unit’s operational assets (Oil & Gas, midstream, RNG and LNG assets). To be successful in this role, the individual should have experience in the operation, sizing and diagnosis of rotating equipment such as centrifugal pumps, reciprocating compressors and electric motors.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate Safe Behavior.
  • Ensure proactive, ongoing, high quality customer service is provided to the supported assets.
  • Provide diagnostics and troubleshooting support to field operations for varied set of operating assets, mainly reciprocating compressors, centrifugal pumps and electric motors.  Travel to field sites as required to accomplish this urgently in some cases.
  • Evaluate rotating/reciprocating machinery problems and conduct root-cause failure analysis investigations on failed equipment, develop action plans to eliminate repeat failures and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Work with the facilities to improve the use of CMMs (Maximo) to capture equipment downtime, uptime, and implement rotating equipment KPIs (MTBF, MTTR and availability).
  • Work with operations and maintenance to identify key areas for reliability improvements in both rotating and fixed equipment and develop solutions to drive higher asset availability.
  • Actively develop and execute evergreen maintenance and reliability strategies (RCM) of critical equipment to reduce unplanned equipment downtime.
  • Provide support to the predictive maintenance program for both rotating and reciprocating machinery.
  • Own and drive the implementation of a Mechanical Integrity (MI) program for the RNG assets.
  • Frequent monitoring of critical equipment to ensure operations within parameters.

Preference may be given to those who also have the following experience:

  • Measurement and system balancing technical support for liquid hydrocarbon pipeline systems.
  • Mechanical integrity program support for Plant vessels and Plant piping systems.
  • Other related tasks assigned by the supervisor.

 

 



Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, petroleum or natural gas engineering.  Related Bachelor’s degree with engineering experience may be considered.

Experience / specific knowledge:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in rotating and reciprocating equipment in process industries: oil and gas, petrochemical industry, pharmaceuticals, pulp and paper etc.
  • Centrifugal pumps and reciprocating compressors troubleshooting.
  • Vibration analysis: FFT, time wave form and failure prediction.
  • Reciprocating compressor performance analysis (Windrock or other similar technologies).
  • Mechanical integrity softwares like PCMS and Ultrapipe is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of any CMMs software (Maximo, SAP, etc) is desired.
  • Knowledge of measurement and system balancing is a plus.

Certifications, licenses, registrations: 

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

  • Proven analytical and trouble shooting skills on centrifugal and reciprocating equipment.
  • Must be able to work within a team, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and take on additional job responsibilities as needed to serve customer needs

Physical demands:

  • Frequent travel to field/plant sites.
  • Walking and standing on platforms and in-between running equipment.
  • Ability to hear communications from others and give input/instructions orally
  • Ability to see to observe employees, operations, processes, equipment and facilities.

Working conditions:

  • Field, plant and office environment.

Overtime:

  • This is an exempt position and is not eligible for overtime payment.
  • Job level will be based on the candidate’s skills and qualifications.
