The Crew Leader is responsible for leading a team of Operations Specialists, E&C Technicians, Plant Operators, District Welder and third party contractors. This position is responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of all gas/liquid pipelines, compressor stations, process plants and related facilities within the operating area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Responsible for the operation and maintenance of gas compression and auxiliary engines, turbines, motors, cooling equipment, pumps, valves, seals, dehydration and all other process related equipment.
- Maintain, adjust, make minor repairs, and operate equipment (e.g., wheeled tractors, portable pumps, air compressors, heaters, test equipment, vehicles, etc.).
- Work with Operations Supervisor to plan and prioritize daily work activities and projects for a team of seven Operations Specialists, six Plant Operators, three E&C Technicians, and one District Welder.
- Lead the work group in executing daily tasks ensuring the cost effective and efficient performance of all engines, pumps and associated equipment at compressor stations and process plants.
- Develop and/or review safe work plans, shut-out plans, JSA’s, LOTO energy isolation plans/annual review, site specific procedures, project scopes, and monitor work activities as necessary to ensure plans and procedures are being followed.
- Mentor/train employees and third party personnel as required.
- Assists supervision in outage planning and coordination with Gas Control.
- Ensure inventory is maintained and warehouse stock is issued as required. This includes twelve reciprocating compressor engines, three gas turbines with centrifugal compression, three emergency generators, three boilers, eight dehydration towers, one glycol dehydration unit and one H2S chemical treatment plant.
- Manage projects and estimate scope and cost for future budgets.
- Assists supervision in monitoring and maintaining all governmental compliance.
- Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
- Oversee construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties.
- Along with the Operations Supervisor, prepare for and execute emergency response activities as needed.
- Complete all applicable documentation and record keeping.
- Use Maximo in the management of compliance documentation and ensure audit readiness.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements: - High school diploma with five to seven years of experience in compressor station operations, underground gas storage operations, project management and technical analysis.
- Associates degree or equivalent experience in natural gas compression is preferred.

Physical Demands: - Must be able to withstand extreme conditions; will work outside in all environmental conditions.
- Must be able to frequently: enter confined spaces; and climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders and walkways.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions, and 50 pounds from floor to waist.
- Must be able to see, hear, walk and talk effectively.
Working Conditions: - Required to carry a company-provided cell phone, and be available to respond during working hours, and non-working hours as needed.
- The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
Supervisory Responsibility: - This is a leadership position but does not have any direct reports.
