PRIMARY PURPOSE: Operate a liquid storage terminal consisting of a tank farm, dock, truck transfer rack, and rail car loading yard as well as monitor pipeline operations. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Record gauges, temperature readings, and take samples from liquid storage tanks. Assist Operations with product transfer alignments including piping, pumps, & associated valves. Perform daily inspections of pipelines and valves. Responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of rail cars and tank trucks Inspect all containers before loading and after loading to ensure that the container meets Department of Transportation regulations and standards. Ensure that proper documentation is completed on all shipments including but not limited to: proper shipping weights, seal numbers are recorded, and logs are completed. Operating certified scales. Complete all required safety training and monthly refresher training. Ensure operations are performed in accordance with approved procedures and company policy Perform duties as the Dock Watchman / Person in Charge to include: To coordinate the movement of ships and barges. Be familiar with and understand all applicable Coast Guard regulations. Complete all Coast Guard Documentation to include DOS'S and DOI'S. Complete all paperwork associated with liquid bulk transfers. Operate a stationary crane. Connect and disconnect cargo hoses to ships and barges Monitor the transfer of liquid material between marine vessels and the Terminal Assure the safety of all personnel in the area while conducting material transfers Must learn pipeline operations through on the job training and testing prior to operating pipeline. Maintain a clean and safe work environment including but not limited to: proper storage of tools, hoses, and acid suits, cleanliness of work area, proper wear of all personal protective equipment, immediately containing and reporting any spills or unsafe conditions. Attend daily, weekly and monthly safety meetings. Report all accidents, incidents and near misses to the foreman or management. Maintain a positive and professional atmosphere for all employees and visitors. Other duties as directed or required.



Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent Basic Reading, Writing and Math skills. Basic computer skills. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Ability to pass respirator fit test Ability to pass a Pre-employment Drug Screen. Have the ability to climb stairs and ladders. Have the ability to monitor cargo transfers. Must be willing to work over water (dock). Must be willing to work in protected areas at heights up to 45 feet above ground. Able to work in all weather conditions. Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis Able to perform tasks while wearing a full face respirator or supplied air. Able to become a member of the facility Emergency Response Team, including successfully passing Industrial Firefighting School at LSU or equivalent, & Confined Space Rescue Training. Ability to clearly communicate both orally and written. Must be willing to shift and/or work overtime hours during the week, weekends and/or holidays as dictated by operations Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor, keep required work schedule, focus on attention to details, and follow work rules. Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge: Previous chemical, refining, or terminalling experience is preferred. O.S.H.A. Certification not required, but a plus. Prior experience in pipeline operations a plus but not required. Prior experience in dock operations a plus but not required. Prior experience operating heavy equipment a plus but not required. Prior experience with river barge discharging operations a plus but not required.
