The Engineering Design group is seeking a Compression Engineerr to support Interstate Natural Gas project execution and operational support.

Position Description:
 
Provide engineering support in all areas of gas compression and related equipment. The individual will be an engineering resource to the midstream pipeline departments in support of compression activities and must possess the ability to associate with a wide variety of people (personalities, skill and education levels, etc.) with tact, courtesy and professionalism.

The individual must possess project management skills used in the development of projects including project scope, schedule, budget forecasting, cost tracking/analysis, and risk identification/mitigation and be capable of communicating this information using well-developed written and verbal skills.

Position Requirements

  • Working with Operations, EHS, Project Management, Business Development, Gas Control, and other internal departments to maintain and improve the integrity of the company’s compression infrastructure by monitoring, completing studies and reviews, assessing risk / benefit of new technology, generating recommendations for and developing projects, etc. as required to achieve the task.
  • Specify natural gas compression equipment based on provided operating conditions to optimize performance efficiencies, flexibility to changes in operating conditions, long-term reliability, ease of maintenance, while minimizing 20 year life cycle costs
  • Develop Request for Proposal (RFP) bid documents, conduct bid process, prepare detailed bid analysis based on 20 year life cycle costs, recommend successful contractor.
  • Generate cost estimates, secure project funding, accurately track and forecast project expenses, submit project closure documentation.
  • Review and manage projects in terms of economics, environmental regulations, OSHA Safety, Kinder Morgan Engineering Standards, Construction Standards, and Operating and Maintenance Procedures.
  • Develop project scope documents, schedules, contractor bid documents, manage the bid process including job showing, recommend contractor, and manage contractor activities.
  • Develop and/or update KM Equipment Specifications and Engineering Standards.
  • Apply the company's design and operating philosophy to meet corporate goals for safety, regulatory compliance, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Travel estimated from 20 to 40% of the time to field sites and offices with occasional overnight stays.
  • Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, control, and instrumentation drawings.
  • Provide engineering support and technical expertise to support mechanical equipment operations.
  • Effectively prioritize workload between multiple projects
  • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and high level of performance.
  • Ability to take on new projects and shift priorities on short notice.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to company and it’s insurer

**Position may be filled at various levels depending on experience and job skills of successful candidate.

Hybrid work schedule (Monday – Wednesday: office, Thursday – Friday: remote); additional work schedule options available (9/80 and half day Fridays)
