The successful candidate will be a member of the Business Solutions Application Development Team and work for one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. Kinder Morgan owns an interest in or operates approximately 84,000 miles of natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, and carbon dioxide (CO2) pipelines and over 150 terminals for storing and handling various chemicals and other products.

This position will report directly to the Manager of Application Development. The Business Solutions Application Development Team designs, develops, and supports custom software for operationally, commercially, and financially focused business intelligence and business process automation solutions. The individual will be expected to perform in the developer role by utilizing technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills to address challenging assignments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support existing Business Solutions applications and work on projects to develop new technical solutions, utilizing technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Design, develop, and implement full-stack software solutions using Microsoft technologies such as .NET, C#, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, Azure, SQL Server, and other tools
  • Work closely with the IT Business Solutions Team to interact with various business and IT groups (Contract Admin, Nominations/Scheduling, Gas Control, System Design, Account Services, Marketing, Business Development, Financial Planning, Risk Management, DBAs, Infrastructure, Network Security, Telecommunications, etc.) to design, construct, implement and support business intelligence solutions
  • Work with other developers, create and manage project plans and estimates, and maintain documentation
  • Effectively prioritize workload between several projects
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned



Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems (CIS/MIS/etc.), or similar discipline is preferred

Skill/Ability/Experience Requirements

  • 5 to 10 Years of work experience using Microsoft technologies in an application development environment
  • Extensive experience in using SQL to write and maintain complex business solutions
  • Configuration, enhancement, and customization of solutions primarily based on MVC, VB.NET, and C#.NET technologies, including API/Web services
  • Proficiency in all aspects of the .NET application model, specifically the presentation, business, and data access (SQL Server) layers
  • Fluent in .NET framework environment (C# / VB. NET / ASP. NET / MVC) and SQL server data management
  • Project life cycle, Design, Development, Testing, Migration, and Implementation experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate systems requirements verbally and in writing
  • Experience working on multiple assignments during the same time frame based on relative priorities
  • Uses time effectively and efficiently; a team player who values the input of others and strives to solve problems for the good of all
  • Can represent own interests and yet be sensitive to others; is cooperative and encourages collaboration
  • Experience in SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, and Power BI
  • PowerShell, Python, PySpark, Palantir Foundry, and data science experience is a plus
  • Natural gas industry experience is a plus
