What your job will be like:

Are you an expert at working with a team to audit travel expense reports? We are looking for the right person to support our travel and accounting functions throughout the lab. Come crunch the numbers with us!

In this role you will: 

  • perform general travel related duties, expense report audits, and vendor invoice reviews
  • work closely with travel coordinators in monitoring and maintaining an in-house updated event and conference projection database
  • ensure the relevant entries to the Department of Energy (DOE) conference system are updated in a timely and accurate manner
  • serve as the primary customer service contact for conference status updates, policy & procedural questions
  • audit and process for payment all foreign and domestic conference attendance expense reports

 



Qualifications We Require: 

Education: 

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience: 

  • Five years’ experience in an accounting-related environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • In-depth knowledge of the Federal Travel to ensure compliance with approval processes, expense allocation, and audit requirements
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP)
  • Working knowledge of travel and accounts payable
  • Familiarity with related financial functions i.e. general ledger and accounts payable
  • Profiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and email platforms like Microsoft Outlook

Qualifications We Desire: 

  • Knowledge of the Federal Travel Regulations a plus
  • Experience with integrated project driven accounting systems such as Costpoint in a Federal Government or Government contractor environment a plus
