What your job will be like:

The Treasury Accountant serves in the Chief Financial Office and will be responsible for overseeing all the day-to-day and month-end treasury functions and reporting. This will include managing and reviewing reporting functions including Daily Bank Account Analysis Activity Reports, wires, ACH, Positive Pay, and other payment reporting. Individual will utilize CostPoint financial software to manage treasury responsibilities under the guidance of the Accounting and Finance Manager.

In this role you will:

  • Oversee Payment Cleared Funding between Jefferson Science Associates (JSA), the Department of Energy (DOE) and the bank
  • Manage and review daily Bank Account Analysis Activity Reports
  • Manage Wires, Positive Pay and other payment reporting
  • Manage Checks-Paid Letter of Credit between JSA and the bank
  • Manage daily Bank Report Feeds to update Summary of Cash Activity (SOCA) reporting to DOE by coordinating with IT, DOE, Budget, Accounting and other areas
  • Reconcile JSA and bank files
  • Complete and upload SOCA and other required reports each month into DOE financial systems
  • Perform system testing for CostPoint, bank interfaces, and other DOE financial systems
  • Provide courteous and efficient customer service to the lab community, customers and vendors while maintaining information in a confidential manner
  • Serve as backup within the Finance and Fixed Asset groups

Qualifications We Require:


  • Bachelor’s Degree, or
  • Equivalent combination of education, experience, and specific training


  • Minimum of five years’ experience working in the treasury/cash management field

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiar with government contractor regulations to ensure compliance with approval processes, Financial Management handbook guidance for cash management, and audit requirements
  • Good working knowledge of accounting practices and theory
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communications, problem-solving and math skills, and calculator and keyboard skills
  • Ability to maintain and promote a positive attitude in a demanding work environment
  • Ability to adapt and perform under changing work requirements
  • Working knowledge of treasury practices and theory
  • Fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel and email platforms like Microsoft Outlook
  • Good decision-making and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong organizational coordinator and analytical skills

Qualifications We Desire:


  • Experience with integrated project driven accounting systems such as CostPoint in a Federal Government or government contractor environment
  • Experience with STARS and other DOE financial systems
  • Experience working with SOCA reports

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of CostPoint
  • Knowledge of FAR and CAS
