Position Posted: 03/25/22 Salary Range: $69,600 - $94,800 (TD III) Work Location Type: Flexible On-site (working more than 60% on-site) We are currently seeking an Electrical / Electronic Equipment Compliance Inspector to provide electrical code and safety compliance expertise in all areas, with the primary objective of verifying standards compliance of non-NRTL (Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory) electrical equipment and related systems. This position will work directly with electrical designers and trades to test and inspect electrical / electronic equipment prior to installation and operational use while ensuring that safety controls meet JSA policy standards. In This Role You Will:
Utilize a detailed understanding of application of NFPA 70 / 70E, IEEE, UL and other associated compliance requirements to non-NRTL equipment and related systems Practice consistent communication of laboratory policy and procedures regarding non-NRTL equipment and related systems. Perform field inspection and give approval / disapproval of non-NRTL equipment and related systems, prior to operational use Provide input, support and feedback for the design and implementation of an organizational configuration management program Provide equipment design input prior to inclusion into the lab's electrical infrastructure and experimental setups Provide input on subcontractor selection and oversight with respect to electrical program setup, compliance and safety
Qualifications We Require:Education and Experience: AS degree in Electrical or Electronics plus 7 years experience or High School Graduate with 10 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of NFPA 70/70E, IEEE, UL and associated codes. Working knowledge of configuration management systems, to include use of QR codes and real-time field updates of equipment information. Understanding of safety practices associated with both high and low AC/DC voltage systems. Ability to positively affect work environments and work practices.
