POSITION POSTED: SEPTEMBER 1, 2021 SALARY RANGE: $66,100 - $96,300 (SA II) JSA is actively seeking a Accounts Payable Group Supervisor to join our dynamic team! in this role, the Account Payable Group Supervisor will provide day to day supervision of the accounts payable staff to ensure all Accounts Payable, Cash Receipt and General Ledger processes are performed to meet JSA requirements.

Essential Job Functions:
Distribute work tasking amongst staff members to maintain a high level of productivity and assure full coverage of accounting task
Develop and maintain logical and meaningful key performance indicators to monitor staffing workload
Maintain a strong familiarity with the Costpoint systems, AP functions and those purchasing and receiving functions that impact Accounts Payable
Work with Procurement, Lab personnel, vendors and subcontractors to resolve AP related issues that may arise and resolve at the lowest level possible
Review the monthly Procurement Credit Card payment request submitted by the Procurement office to ensure proper payment. Work with the Procurement representative to ensure appropriate documentation and approval has been provided. Upload transactions into Costpoint. Audit transactions and resolve identified issues
Monitor the Lab’s tax-exempt status and applicability to AP transactions. Provide tax exemption forms to vendors as required. Maintain a familiarity with state sales and use tax reporting. Should status change, be prepared to resume preparation of required reporting to the state
Review staff work to ensure timely, accurate, and complete work from invoice entry through payment and document filing. Ensure posting observing month end and year end closing schedules
Review new vendor master setups and monitor and close our return to vendor transactions
Reconcile accounts payable subsystem to general ledger and provide reports to the staff accountant at month and / year end
Review cash receipts processing to ensure timely completion of cash receipts posting observing month end and year end closing schedules
Review and approves journal entries prepared by staff and prepare account analyses
Serve as a key contributor to the year-end closing process, by managing the accrual of the university personal services, temporary labor, and two-way service contracts, as well as subsequent tracking
Serve as the site manager responsible for audit coordination associated with any sales and use tax audits
Oversee the review of stale dated purchase orders/contracts for proper disposition. Exercise judgement in identifying purchase orders/contracts to be forwarded to Procurement for review, modification, or de-obligation
Prepare responses on Accounts Payable issues in a variety of audit situations including internal audits, external audits, IG audits and vendor audit confirmations
1 Education, Certifications and Experience:
a) Relevant BA degree + 5 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
a) In depth comprehension and ability to apply general accounting theory and practices and internal control procedures.
b) Good working knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards and Accounts Payable cash receipts, and purchasing
c) Demonstrated use of computers and accounting sofware packages d) Knowledge of DOE requirements a plus
