What Your Job Will Be Like

JSA is actively seeking an energetic and motivated Recruiter to join our dynamic and growing team!

The Recruiter is accountable for the recruitment and hiring of unique and specialized positions to fulfill JSA’s talent acquisition needs. In this role you will touch all elements of the recruiting life cycle while building a partnership with dedicated hiring managers.

Working under general supervision of the Employee Relations Manager, your primary focus will be Recruiting. You will be responsible for managing multiple job requisitions, working independently and pivoting as priorities shift. A solid knowledge base of applicable hiring/employment laws is critical. The position will require flexibility with assigned duties and intermittent support of other HR functions as needed. The ideal candidate for this position must be a motivated, self-starter with excellent communication and writing skills, with a high level of integrity. Your role will:

Have full ownership of the talent acquisition life cycle; from sourcing, engaging and assessing candidates, to influencing the hire and providing general service excellence to all stakeholders 

Partner with the hiring manager to determine position specifications and provide recommendations on possible approaches to the search or candidate requirements

Foster positive working relationships with line management to understand operational and technical needs of the respective divisions 

Assist in the development, writing and marketing of job descriptions and job postings 

Evaluate applicant qualifications against position requirements and determine who to move forward based on the recruitment process 

Proactively research and evaluate new sourcing and research ideas and methods to create innovative sourcing strategies 

Represent the Lab at various Career Fairs in person and virtually 

Utilize social media and online networking tools to source quality candidates 

Identify difficulties with searches, research and recommend solutions to line management. Proactively and regularly communicate the status of each search, providing a consultative approach with recommendations on how to move forward

Identify opportunities for change within the talent acquisition process to allow for progressive growth in meeting organizational goals

Co-facilitate the Onboarding process for new hires







 Education, Certifications and Experience: 

a)      Relevant BA degree + 5 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

b)      Demonstrated knowledge of human resources principles, policies, practices, issues, laws and regulations, especially as they pertain to employment activities

c)      Ability to articulate thoughts, offer persuasive arguments and effectively communicate to varying audience levels

d)      Independently manage multiple competing priorities and prioritize - you will be in high demand!

e)      Experience identifying networking leads for passive talent using multiple internet sources such as niche sites, organizations, associations, education, blogs, user groups, specific industry news, etc.

f)       Experience in R&D environment and  technical recruitment in engineering and/or scientific technical positions is a plus

g)      Familiarity with OFCCP recruiting requirements is a plus

h)      PHR, SPHR certification, certification preferred

 
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

a)      Experience in recruiting of professionals in various levels of positions within an organization

b)      Skilled in social media and online networking tools with a proven track record to ensure successful and quality candidate sourcing

c)      Familiarity with applicant tracking system and tools to document activities real-time

d)      Ability to maintain confidentiality of documents and information

e)      Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook

f)       Demonstrated business writing skills to effectively convey value proposition of employer and branding of job openings in competitive environment

g)      Effective organizational and communication skills

h)      Ability to interact well with all organizational levels while demonstrating exceptional customer service
