SALARY RANGE: $105,200 - $166,200 (SE III)  

Understand the potential risks to JSA workers, TJNAF users and visitors posed by electrical hazards; develop policies, procedures and training to eliminate and mitigate those hazards; and assure JSA compliance with all appropriate contractual and regulatory requirements. 

Essential Job Functions:   

  1. Apply advanced  engineering and scientific principles to the evaluation and solution of technical problems involving work on multiple highly complex major projects requiring innovative, original solutions
  2. Understand completely the promulgated requirements and standards that govern the safe  design, fabrication, installation and maintenance/repair of electrical and electronic equipment.
  3. Remain cognizant of DOE and industry best practices to electrical hazards control, recommend the adoption of these practices to JSA management where appropriate.
  4. Interact with JSA workers, supervisors and subcontractors to assure safe electrical work practices are understood, planned into work activities and future equipment and infrastructure.
  5. Develop written policy, procedures and training content and deliver training on appropriate topics.
  6. Serve on JSA safety committees and procurement teams.
  7. Estimate, track and completes project activities on time and within budget. 


Education and Experience: 

a)     Relevant BS degree + 10 years relevant experience

 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:  

a)     Able to effectively train people outside his/her work group 

b)     Able to give effective presentations to critical/high level customers and effectively represent work group on review panels and cross-organizational teams 

c)      Can write convincing proposals and reports with all necessary backup material for external consumption.

Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate and explore and implement alternative solutions
Ability to analyze and interpret complex data and systems and develop models

• Ability to carry up to 40 lbs.

• Visual capabilities to use computer workstations, read drawings and documents, make field observations, and see safety alarms
• Auditory capabilities to hear safety alarms
