Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE

The Manager, Logistics Flatbed Distribution Center Implementation is a key leadership role responsible for managing, executing and supporting tasks associated with implementing warehouse management system, go lives and projects for the downstream One Supply Chain platform- FDC (Flatbed Distribution Center).

Project tasks may include managing/executing/supporting all aspects of systems testing and readiness, train the trainer training, go live and post go live systems support. This individual will serve as a Project lead, POC for site, all around Subject Matter Expert (SME) and will own the success of project rollout. This position will provide guidance and leadership related to systems & operational process to the site leaders and associates, and any other resources assigned to project.

The qualified candidate must have the ability to operate with minimal supervision and once given general assignments, prioritizes and executes tasks. Provides and communicates recommendations to upper management. Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, able to support and lead multiple projects, possess excellent communication skills, work well with a team, interact with multiple levels and functions within the Supply Chain organization.


MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • 25% Ensure communication and feedback is provided to operations and Store Support Center teams on System Performance, Systems Enhancements, Issues Management and Operation Stability.
  • 25% Develop project plans and manage the execution of implementation activities
  • 20% Provide feedback, direction and mentorship to junior resources on job performance and career development
  • 20% Provide system support, operational/functional expertise to site users and documentation of lessons learned
  • 10% Building strong relationships between the various stakeholders and customers involved in project.
  • Develops solutions that leverage the Company' s volumes, systems and partnerships while providing consistently high levels of customer service in a cost-effective manner.
  • Identifies and prioritizes logistics needs and communicates recommendations to upper management in order to achieve efficient product distribution.
  • Provides data and recommendations on product tracking, route analysis, rerouting, costing and usage alternatives.
  • Advises IS and system users in the development and implementation of logistics systems improvements and changes.
  • Responds to Requests for Information (RFI) from potential software vendors.
  • Tests vendor software packages to identify potential shortcomings; ascertains vendors' ability to customize products to Home Depot specifications.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS


Environment:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel up to 75% of the time.

Additional Environmental Job Requirements:
Under regular pressure to meet deadlines, quotas and/or must frequently deal with difficult issues related to people or situations.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Additional Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of distribution/supply chain experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Must be on call during Operational hours for Implementation engagements when not onsite
  • Travel will be up to 75% except for Non-Atlanta based

Education Required
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience:
5 years

Physical Requirements:

Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).
