Position Description:
Conduct and/or manage all functions and future growth of the parts and service department for The Home Depot.
Assist all customers, internal and external, with part and equipment recommendations. Handle all service or parts related inquiries and orders.
The Input of any data entry information to include: customer orders, purchasing, receiving, reports, and inventory, as needed.
Schedule all equipment repairs and service activities, in the shop and at the customer location, while adhering to our first in, first out policy for repairs.
Create and develop new business opportunities in all markets for part and service sales.
Help to maintain adequate inventory, both in the shop and in the service van(s) with focus to optimize repair turn-around times and inventory cycle times.
Provide follow up calls for repair estimate approvals and to assess customer satisfaction.
Maintain and update all service manuals and files. Maintain all daily and monthly reports and records pertaining to the department.
Ensure the service department is always neat, clean, organized and all employees present themselves as service professionals.
Work with Operations Managers and National Service Manager to continually optimize performance via process improvements.
Assist Operations Manager with proper maintenance and operation of all service vehicles per company policy.
Always attempt to keep customers satisfied with high work quality and timeliness of repairs, while providing prompt responses to all inquiries.
50%- Parts and repair order entry, inquiry and follow-up. Estimate approvals, part quotes, vendor warranty, part lookup, etc.
25%- Technician scheduling and prioritizing. Tech training and assistance.
25%- Work with the sales, sales support, transportation, and warehouse teams to ensure we exceed customer expectations with regard to repair and part services.
This position reports to the IBDC Operations Manager/National Service Manager.
This position has 3 direct reports.
Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Additional Environmental Job Requirements:

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a trade school degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 3 years
Physical Requirements:
Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
Additional Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous service management experience, preferred. Must be well organized, skilled in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and have the ability to multi-task.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting knowledge. Ability to motivate technical staff and assist in improving productivity and customer satisfaction..
